My passion for Christ is discipleship and youth camps! The last 10 years of my life I have been studying, working as a youth pastor, and ministering … searching and questioning my self: How does God wants to reach Romania for Christ? I believe from all my heart the answer to that question is through a godly, solid, bible camp.
Adolf Hitler and Communism started their missions through youth camps, they brain wash a whole generation with their ideologies, and I don’t see why we cannot do the same thing by brain wash the young generation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
My goal is to equip counselors to start and lead home group bible study with their campers after the camp, and for us to follow up with them all year around. We want to disciple our counselors to disciple their campers during and after camp. We want to use the camp as a platform for discipleship, evangelism, and to start home group bible studies.
BIO
I was born and raised in an orthodox family, which used to not know more about God, except of going to Church before Christmas and Easter with my mom. In spite of the lack of knowledge about God, I always knew that there is a God, so I prayed every night before I go to bed especially because of the problems that were between my parents.
By God’s unconditional love, after many years of doing my own thing, a friend of mine invited me to go to a Word of Life Bible Club. After one month of going, I heard a message that really affected me and changed my life. I realized that no matter how many masks I have I cannot hide from God. I realized that I am a sinner and I deserve to go to hell. At the end of the message, the preacher talked about God’s love and how He gave His only begotten Son for me, Iulian Avramescu, because He loves me and He doesn’t want me to be lost. I understood that Jesus died, was buried, and raised again for me. In that moment, January 16, 1999, I receive Jesus Christ into my life as my personal Lord and Savior.
Two years after this I went to Word of Life Bible School in Hungary where God gave me the privilege to be part of their staff in my second year as a resident assistant and leader at one of their English Bible Clubs. At the graduation, I was awarded with Jack Wyrtzen Memorial Personal Evangelism Award. After that, my desire was to finish my education and get more knowledge in the Bible, so God opened a door for me to go to Temple Baptist Seminary, in Chattanooga, TN. Here I studied my Master of Ministry which I completed and graduated on May 2, 2005. Now I would like to finish my Doctorate of Educational Ministry at Andersonville Theological Seminary where I am currently enrolled.
I am married to Roxana, have two children… Julian & Eric, and we live in Romania where we continue to serve through mobilizing youth camps and developing small group bible studies
